Club Prepares for Annual Silver Tea

The North Reading Garden Club is pleased to announce that Constance McCausland will be this year's special guest arranger at the annual Silver Tea.  Her seasonal program, "Home for the Holidays" will be sure to delight audience members as she creates beautiful arrangements to decorate you home during this most festive of seasons.  Tickets are available for a $10 donation at the door or may be purchased in advance from any club member.  Ms. McCausland's presentation will be followed by a wonderful selection of refreshments and tea and coffee.  Additionally, the club's theme basket raffle will take place during the refreshment period.  The Silver Tea is being held with thanks at the J.T. Hood School, 298 Haverhill Street, North Reading, on Wednesday, November 8 at 7:00pm.  For additional information, please send a message to NRGardenClub@hotmail.com

Member Lee MacNeil wins another award!

The club extends congratulations to member Lee MacNeil in her win of the Mildred E. Bryant trophy, awarded Sept. 9, 2006, from the American Rose Society.  The presentation occurred at the Yankee District Rose Society Show in Harwich, MA.  The Yankee district includes local societies from Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Quebec.   Below are pictures of Lee, her award winning arrangement, and the trophy.

 

NR Garden Club Holding Annual Fall Plant Sale

The North Reading Garden Club's Annual Spring plant sale takes place Saturday, September 30, 2006 on the grounds of Flint Memorial Library, 147 Park Street on the corner of Rt. 62.  A wide selection of colorful fall annuals and perennials will be available including a wonderful selection of everyone's fall favorite, the mum.   Proceeds from this plant sale benefit civic beautification projects such as the "Adopt an Island" program and the placing of annual holiday wreaths on various town buildings.

Congratulations to Club Member Lee MacNeil

The Garden Club extends its congratulations to member Lee MacNeil for receiving the Bronze Medal from the American Rose Society for her outstanding service to the New England Rose Society. Lee has been involved with the Rose Society for several years and is an avid rose gardener. She is also the incoming president of the New England Rose Society. She will be busy! Congratulations, Lee!
